Gold River

Gold River, California
Robert C. Powell Co.

Master Plan 1984-2000

936 Acres

A 936 acre Master Planned Residential Community north of Sacramento, Gold River is a thoughtfully conceived plan respecting the unique character of the site adjacent to the American River.

Gold mining occurred along the river bank and the result was a landscape of cobble tailings. In time these hummocks were overgrown with Native Oak Trees. Substantial quantities of these trees were preserved along the parkways and pedestrian trails that are woven through the residential villages.

Residential neighborhoods, a retail/commercial center, office buildings, parks, schools, community centers and a swim & tennis club are all sited sensitive to the landscape topography, waterways and Oak woodlands.
