Los Gatos Creek Trail at Monte Vista

Built on the 12.8-acre site of the historic Del Monte Cannery property in San Jose the Monte Vista community consists of Cannery Square, 236 condominiums over a garage structure and Madison Place, 156 towm homes.

TGP worked with KB Home and the Santa Clara Valley Water District in the creation of a new section of the Los Gatos Creek Bicycle and Pedestrian Path next to a new residential community on a former Del Monte Canning Plant.
The Plant historically had industrial development up to the creek bank. The new project restored riparian vegetation to this area, created a new section of the Los Gatos Creek trail, and introduced interpretative signage describing the history of the Del Monte facility and the Los Gatos Creek ecosystem.
We collaborated with the Santa Clara Water District to establish the design criteria and plant selection, and coordinated acquisition of new plantings from the watershed area. The plantings are now becoming established, and the space is being transformed to realize the vision for this public amenity.
