San Carlos Trestle Apartments and Public Plaza

Description: 

Trestle is a re-development of new residential and retail uses centered on a new plaza at the historic train depot station / multi-modal transit center. The plan includes 38,000 s.f. of retail development and 280 rental homes.

The Transit Village provides new parking spaces, local shuttles, buses, and taxi stations.  A new public plaza provides the foreground to the historic Caltrain depot at San Carlos Avenue at El Camino Real, and links this neighborhood to the historic downtown core.

Wide sidewalks, street trees, pedestrian-scale lighting, parallel parking along the new apartments encourages pedestrian activity along El Camino Real. Landscape areas between the sidewalk and building faces, small entry plazas at each building entry, pedestrian entry connections to the courtyards activate the pedestrian experience along El Camino Real and the Transit Village.
