ANTHONY M. GUZZARDO, F.A.S.L.A.

Anthony (Tony) Guzzardo founded his private practice in 1963, focusing on land-planning and landscape architecture. Over the last 40 years of his career, his award-winning master plans have helped shape the direction of northern California land planning and design. Apartment complexes and office parks built in the early 70s in the Santa Clara Valley still serve today, with the design concepts as fresh, innovative, and user-friendly as when first conceived. These plans have varied from two- to three-acre projects to projects that include thousands of acres incorporating many land uses and densities. While his work has primarily been focused in California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and Nevada, Tony's expertise has been sought by developers in Europe and Latin America.

Tony has always felt strongly about giving back to his profession and has engaged in a wide range of academic and professional pursuits. He has lectured, served on panels and as visiting design critic at Harvard Graduate School of Design, the University of California, International Design Conference at Aspen, San Francisco City College, California Polytechnic College and The California Association of Landscape Contractors. He has also served as a jury member for the Pacific Coast Builders Conference and is a past member of the Board of Directors of the Landscape Architecture Foundation. He became a Fellow of the ASLA in 1988.

Mr. Guzzardo transferred all ownership and control of the firm to Paul Lettieri and Gary Laymon in October 2000 with their creation of The Guzzardo Partnership, Inc. and remains a consultant to the new firm.
